doTERRA Essential Oil

I got hooked on doTERRA Essential Oils over the summer. I've been using essential oils for a couple years not but got hooked on doTERRA because you can take them internally. Which is great for cold season and just keeping your immune systems strong and healthy. They are Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils. Never anything added! Just pure essential oil.

One of my favorite ways to use them is diffusing. I use the Petal Diffuser from doTERRA in our kitchen/dining room and living room area.

I use the essential oils as a chemical free air freshener. Just the other day I got Cinnamon Bark and I am diffusing it now and the house smells wonderful!
Another nice Autumn blend would be...

If you are interested in more information on doTERRA Essential Oils, just let me know. Leave me a comment and I will get back to you.  You can also go to my site to get more information. Just click the graphic below.

Have You Heard??

Have you heard of Thrive Market?

A Thrive Market membership gives you access to the best natural and organic products from all the brands you love at wholesale prices. The member ship cost less than $5 a month ($59.95 for the year) and most members make back that fee within the first two orders. All new members receive a 30-day free trial that begins when the first order is placed.

They have all kinds of stuff! Stuff I normally buy at the grocery store and pay much more for, plus there is FREE shipping on all orders over $49.00.

I just got an order the other day....
They always pack everything very well!!
Here are my good this time...
No food this time, mostly cleaning products. Well all cleaning products...LOL...I guess I would consider the Jason BodyWash a cleaning product.

If you normally purchase organic, all natural, GMO free products - check them out!

Very Special Lady

Yesterday a very special lady went home to be with the Lord.
This is a much younger picture of Mike and his Mom but I really like it.
Last week while Mike was away we heard from his sister, Norma, that they had given their Mom 1 to 2 weeks to live. By the time he got home Sunday night that had changed from 1 to 2 days.
Monday morning Mike and I headed to IN to see her.
I had been praying that the Lord would help her to rest comfortably until we got there so Mike could say goodbye. We were walking through the nursing home and Mike sent his sister a text saying we were there. Norma said "Michael's here" and as we were walking through her door we were able to see her take one last deep breath, Mike got to go say goodbye, and she went to be with the Lord.
Jack always enjoyed out visits.
This last picture is of her at her 92 birthday that was this past May.
She lived a long and good life. We are thankful that she's no longer suffering. be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. 2 Cor. 5:8

I am Alive :)

Well it's been forever and a day since I last posted on here, but I am alive!

It's been a long week here. Mike has been doing A LOT of traveling because October is always a busy month with trade shows and all that fun stuff. So to help time go by I made some pumpkin donuts this morning.
They are really yummy and they are even vegan! Here's the recipe.
Baked Maple Pumpkin Donuts
Makes 6
1/4 cup grape seed oil
1/2 cup organic maple syrup
3/4 cup organic pumpkin puree
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp ginger and nutmeg
1/2 tsp sea salt
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
3/4 cup + 2 tbsp organic whole wheat flour, sifted

Cinnamon Spiced Glaze
2/3 cup organic powdered sugar
1 tbsp organic coconut milk
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease donut pan.

In a small mixing bowl combine oil, maple syrup, pumpkin puree, spices, salt and baking powder. Whisk together until smooth. Add sifted flour and mix to combine. Do not over mix.

Evenly spoon batter into donut pan, batter should be nearly to the top. Smooth tops and place in the oven. Bake for 15-18 minutes, until toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean.

Let donuts sit for a couple minutes then transfer to a cooling rack. Let cool completely.

Meanwhile mix together the ingredients for the spiced glaze. Dip cooled donuts, tops only, into the glaze and return to cooling rack to let glaze set up. (I actually put mine in the fridge.)

Let me know if you try them :)
After Kayleigh and I ran to WalMart, she went to the gym and Jack and I took a ride around the lake.  It was a beautiful Fall day. There were even a few boats on the lake. One brave family was water skiing. The water has cooled down a little too much for me to get in it!
Jack enjoyed the walk too!

I am having a Fall Sale in my Etsy shop.
Stop by and take a peek. Click HERE.

I am not even sure if I have any readers out there any more.
Leave me a note so I know you stopped by!

Before and After

This my be old news to some of you because I've all ready posted the pictures on Facebook, but here are the Before and After pictures of my kitchen island.
I forgot to take pictures of it before I took all the doors off. So you can see what it looked like in the above picture.

I used Valspar Chalk Paint, Wax Sealer, and Antiquing Stain.
I applied two coats of the chalk paint, sanded, sealed and applied the antiquing.

Yesterday I had one coat of Minwax Clear Wood Wax for some extra protection on the top.
That took some elbow grease!! I would make sure to use a buffer if ever doing such a big surface again.  I am used to waxing picture frames. LOL!

I love the way it turned out.  Next I will do our entryway bench :)

Hope you are all having a great day! It's been HOT in the midwest!! BUT I am NOT complaining ;)

Firecrackers & New Friends

Hello Everyone.
It's the start of another beautiful day in Missouri. I hope it's beautiful wherever you are!! Yesterday I started a new project. I am chalk painting our kitchen island to match our dinning room furniture. Our kitchen, dinning room, and living room are all open and really pretty much one big room. Painting the island will make the color scheme flow so I am looking forward to getting it finished. I will post before and after pictures when I am done.

I have several Americana/Patriotic items in my Etsy shop and this morning I added this cute Firecracker Candle Mat to the mix.

It has been hand stitched on tea stained muslin with a warm and natural batting and backed with a blue ticking. Click HERE to see listing.

Yesterday I was out watering the flowers....
(Here's a few)

and I saw some new friends going in our fountain.
 Cute little frogs!
I am not sure what kind these are but it's the first time I've seen frogs like these.
We had a really big one living in there too and Mike said he was still there when he lifted up the screen to see how much water was in there. It's not a very big fountain and we may have some battling frogs here pretty soon. LOL!

Hope you are having a great day!

Birthday's and a Boat

Boy, it's been a long time since my last post :(
At least I am here now.
The month of May brought us two special birthdays. On May 20th my Dad turned 73 and on May 28th Mike's Mom turned 92.

We drove back to NY to celebrate my Dad's birthday and to pick up a couple things we left at our old house. There are still a couple things to pick up but that will have to wait for a U-Haul trailer. It was nice to spend time with my parents for a couple days and get to see my brother and his wife for my Dad's birthday.

Last weekend we drove to Indiana for Mike's Mom's birthday. Kayleigh's boyfriend, Sean, came a long with us and Eleanor was glad to see everyone. Mike's sister, Norma, and her daughter, Jamie, was there with her kids.

The past couple weeks we have been enjoying and getting used to our new toy.
A new boat :)

Mike has driven a boat before but I haven't.
I wish it drove like a car, but it doesn't, so it takes some getting used to.
We don't have a dock so we have to put it in and take it out of the water each time we use it.
We made sure there weren't many people out the first time we put it in :)
Jack really likes to ride on the boat. Our little Co-Captain.
My first time driving. LOL
We were able to get out last Sunday and Monday. It was much busier over the weekend but I think the majority of people were at the beach.

It's very relaxing. We are past the point of breaking in the motor now and we are hoping to get out with a tube this weekend. I will have to post some pictures of that :)

I hope you are all off to a great start to your summer!
